Houston’s first transit-oriented development, Mid-Main, is a two-block mixed-use development offering studio, one- and two-bedroom units at the heart of the city’s up-and-coming entertainment district that includes the Continental Club, the Ensemble Theatre and the new MATCH. The design deconstructs the Texas wrap and builds on the concept of the garden apartment residences of Houston. Mid-Main features courtyards and elevated walkways providing distinctive social spaces, parking for a new shared cultural facility, and responds to and integrates the existing historic fabric – continuing an eclectic retail strip. With Mid-Main’s light rail stop right outside the door, the building offers 70% studios to address the financial needs and mobile lifestyle of Houston’s new urban demographic – young professionals, a segment that will ride the rail.
